The UK 49s Teatime draw is the most popular daily lottery-style draw in South Africa, attracting more bets than any other UK 49s session and most local National Lottery games on weekdays. Six main numbers and one Booster ball are drawn from a pool of 1 to 49, with the result published shortly after 18:49 SAST during British Summer Time (and 19:49 SAST during UK winter). On this page you'll find today's winning numbers, the previous 30 Teatime draws, hot and cold number trends, and a complete guide to how the Teatime draw works for South African players.
About the Teatime draw
Teatime began in 2003 as a sister draw to the original UK 49s Lunchtime, designed to give bettors a second daily opportunity to play the same simple format. It quickly outgrew its older sibling in popularity. South African operators began offering Teatime bets in the mid-2010s, and within a few years it had become the most-played lottery-style game in the country outside the National Lottery. Today, the Teatime draw is broadcast live in the UK every evening of the year — including Christmas Day — without exception.
Teatime schedule and SAST times
The Teatime draw runs daily, 365 days a year. The official UK draw time is 17:49 GMT, which translates to 18:49 SAST during British Summer Time (late March to late October) and 19:49 SAST during UK winter. Most South African operators round this to 18:50 / 19:50 for publication purposes. We refresh the result on this page automatically every ~30 minutes.
How to play Teatime
To play UK 49s Teatime through a licensed South African bookmaker, you decide three things: how many numbers to bet on (one through five), whether to include the Booster ball, and your stake. The bookmaker quotes fixed odds for each combination — for example matching 3 of 5 numbers without the Booster typically pays around 600/1, while matching 5 of 5 without the Booster can pay over 100,000/1. Pick your numbers (or use a quick-pick), confirm your bet, and wait for the 18:50 SAST broadcast.
Teatime prizes and fixed-odds payouts
Because UK 49s pays fixed odds rather than a parimutuel jackpot, your potential payout is known the moment you place the bet. There is no rolling jackpot and no shared prize pool — every winning bet is paid in full by the operator at the quoted odds. Typical Teatime payouts at major SA bookmakers include 6/1 for matching 1 number, 60/1 for 2 numbers, 600/1 for 3, 8,000/1 for 4, and 100,000/1 or higher for 5 numbers (without Booster).
Strategy and responsible-play tips
There is no strategy that beats the underlying odds of UK 49s — every draw is mathematically independent — but there are sensible approaches to bankroll management. Stick to a daily entertainment budget. Compare odds between operators before placing the same bet. Use the Booster ball deliberately, not by default, since it changes both your odds and payout. And track your own results in a notebook or spreadsheet to spot when you are chasing losses.
