SA Lotto is South Africa's flagship draw, broadcast live on SABC2 every Wednesday and Saturday at 21:00 SAST. Players pick six numbers from 1 to 52, and a seventh Bonus ball is drawn for second-tier prizes. This page shows the latest winning numbers, prize-division breakdown, and a 30-draw history you can use for pattern analysis.

    About Lotto

Operated by Ithuba Holdings since 2015 (previously Gidani and Uthingo), SA Lotto has produced some of the largest individual lottery wins on the African continent — including a R110 million jackpot in 2018. The pool size moved from 1-49 to 1-52 in 2017 to lengthen rollover sequences, which is why historical hot/cold studies should only use post-2017 data.

    Schedule and broadcast times

Draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday at 21:00 SAST. Ticket sales close at 20:30 on draw nights, so plan your purchase early. The draw machine is independently audited and broadcast live.

    How to play Lotto

Buy a board for R5.00 at any licensed retailer or via the official Ithuba app and bank channels. Choose six numbers between 1 and 52, or use a Quick Pick. You can opt into Lotto Plus 1 (+R2.50) and Lotto Plus 2 (+R2.50) on the same ticket for two extra chances at separate jackpots.

    Prize divisions and payouts

There are eight prize divisions. Match all six main numbers to win the jackpot. Match five plus the Bonus to win Division 2 (typically R100 000+). Lower tiers pay fixed amounts down to a free Quick Pick for matching three numbers. Approximately 50% of ticket revenue funds the prize pool; the rest funds Good Causes and operational costs.

    Strategy and responsible-play tips

Lotto is a game of independent random events — past frequency does not influence future draws. That said, players use cold/hot tracking and balanced odd/even spreads as personal heuristics. The most actionable strategy is bankroll discipline: pre-set a monthly budget you can afford to lose, treat tickets as entertainment, and never chase losses.
