    Data Methodology

    This page explains exactly where our results come from, how often they are updated, how we verify them, and how every statistic on this site is calculated. We share this in detail because trust is the only real currency a results site has.

    Where results come from

    • UK 49s (Brunchtime, Lunchtime, Drivetime, Teatime): the primary feed is 49s.events, cross-checked against 49s.co.uk, Bet49s and CompareTheLotto.
    • SA Daily Lotto and PowerBall: sourced from CompareTheLotto's South African pages. SA Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 & 2 and PowerBall Plus have no reliable public feed — we mark those draws as unavailable rather than displaying unverified numbers.
    • Recovery sources (teatimeresults.info, uk49slatestresults.co.za) fill archive gaps in the UK 49s history.

    Update frequency

    The results dataset is regenerated on a scheduled basis (a server process or build-time snapshot job) — typically every 30 minutes — and re-scrapes a rolling recent window from every source. The dataset ship date is available at /data/draws.json (generatedAt). Each stored result carries its own updatedAt and verification timestamps, which the pages display.

    Verification process

    A result is labelled verified only when at least two independent sources agree on all six main numbers and the booster/powerball. A single-source result is labelled drawn and shown as awaiting an official confirmation. If sources disagree on the same draw, the record is marked conflict and flagged for review rather than silently published.

    Every result must pass validation before it reaches the public pages: correct number count, numbers inside the valid range, no duplicates, a plausible draw date, and a source response. Records that fail validation are not published as verified.

    Timezone handling

    UK 49s draws happen on the London clock. We convert every draw time to South African Standard Time using the correct UTC offset for the draw's date (WET in winter, WEST during British Summer Time), so results and countdowns are always shown in SAST. SA lotteries draw at 21:00 SAST.

    Historical data methodology

    Our UK 49s archive covers Lunchtime and Teatime from 2 April 2018 and Brunchtime and Drivetime from 16 March 2026. Older entries are reconciled from the primary archive; recent entries are re-scraped on every refresh. Days confirmed as no-draw (Christmas, lockdowns, funerals) are stored as empty draws and never shown as results.

    Statistics methodology

    All statistics — frequency, hot/cold, overdue, pairs, triples, odd/even and high/low — are computed directly from the stored result dataset. Every statistics panel states the dataset it uses (for example "based on the last 50 verified Teatime draws"), and pages label time windows explicitly. Statistics are historical descriptions, not predictions: each draw is independent and every ball has an equal chance of being drawn.

    When sources disagree

    If two independent sources return different numbers for the same draw and date, the record is stored in a conflict state. It is excluded from statistics until the conflict is resolved, and we prefer the earliest, highest-trust source for display. This keeps incorrect results out of the public statistics.

    How to report an error

    If you spot a result or statistic you believe is wrong, please tell us via the contact page. We treat corrections as a priority and will re-verify the source, update the record, and document the correction.
